Absheron Hotel Group is proud to announce the opening of Intourist Hotel, Baku and its official affiliation with the Autograph Collection, Marriott’sbrand featuring an exclusive portfolio of upscale independent hotels and resorts. Intourist Hotel Baku is one of four hotels that the group will operate in Azerbaijan. Also in May 2015, the group will add the magnificent 818-room Boulevard Hotel Baku (White City district) to its portfolio.
The architecture of the new Intourist Hotel Baku was inspired by its original predecessor, designed by a prominent architect Shusev and constructed in 1934. With its own unique character, the new Intourist Hotel derives its special magic from the fond reminiscences of Baku’s first Intourist Hotel. The newly built and modernized building has the ambiance of a private club, offering elegant accommodation of the highest standard. Its 150 rooms and suites offerall the modern comforts. All guest rooms are fully equipped with luxury bedding and amenities, signature toiletries and the latest technology. Most rooms offer panoramic views directly on the Caspian Sea and Baku Boulevard.
Intourist Hotel’s B&B Club restaurant, bar and lounge is located on the mezzanine floor and features an interactive open kitchen with wood-burning oven, semi-private dining areas and a beautiful green terrace overlooking the sea. The menu includes one of the largest selections of burgers from around the world, aged steaks, fresh salads and other all-time-favorites. The B&B Club hosts Baku’s first Bubbles Bar, offering over 30 different kinds of champagne and the largest selection of vodkas along with vintage spirits and wines. A spacious lounge area features comfortable seating by a large fireplace – a great coziness for afternoon tea and pre-dinner cocktails.
Guests can take advantage of the Day Spa and Wellness area, which consists of a high-tech gym with panoramic sea views, saunas, steam baths, and two spa suites, each offering en-suite walk-in showers, vanity and changing areas, and closets. Like the rest of the hotel, the spa is sophisticated, contemporary and intimate in design.
Intourist Hotel Baku offers a fully equipped multi-functional meeting space called Room 1934 with the adjacent Library area that can be converted into a private venue, serving tea, coffee and other refreshments. A designated business corner has two working desks and is conveniently located within the Library area just opposite the meeting room.
“We are excited to be involved in the revival of Baku’s legendary Intourist Hotel and at the same time create the concept that will perfectly resonate with the latest trends in the modern hospitality world. I have no doubt that Intourist Hotel will set itself aside in Baku’s market through its distinctive character, intimate ambiance, unique dining facilities, fantastic location and, most importantly, genuine hospitality”, says Marc Ehler, Managing Director of Absheron Hotel Group.
Marco Rabbia has been appointed the General Manager of Intourist Hotel Baku. Since joining the Absheron Hotel Group in 2013, Marco participated in the opening of Pik Palace and Park Chalet Hotels in Shahdag in the capacity of Hotel Manager. “Operating such iconic hotel with almost 80 years of history is a great honour for me. Our aim is to ensure that the legacy of the famous “old” Intourist Hotel continues for many years to come and it becomes one of the preferred hotel choices in Baku”, says Marco Rabbia.
